Read and comment on AI’s work

AI-written documents often contain passages that need clarification or a different direction. Fumidama began with a simple goal: attach feedback to those passages, discuss it with AI, and review the resulting changes.

We design first for people who are not engineers, while aiming to support engineers writing documents too. Even with a capable editor and CLI, a comment on a specific passage is a useful way to communicate intent. Fumidama is a tool for proposals, specifications and explanatory documents, not a coding environment.

What Fumidama provides

Fumidama provides a place for people to read, edit and comment on Markdown documents. It also offers guidance for organizing documents and reference materials and managing history with Git.

We aim to keep the feature set minimal and improve the core document workflow. Users decide which AI tools to use and how to divide decisions and work.

Why Markdown

Markdown makes text and structure directly readable and editable. Compared with preserving the rich formatting and layout of a Word document, it can simplify the work AI needs to perform. Reducing conversions, formatting adjustments and repeated visual checks can reduce execution time and AI usage costs. We do not promise an unmeasured percentage saving.

Limited formatting is also a deliberate choice. Headings, lists and tables support clear content without making detailed decoration the main task.

Why Git

A proprietary Fumidama history format would be unfamiliar to AI agents. We needed a shared history system that agents could understand and operate.

We chose Git because it is widely used in software development and familiar to AI agents. Document history uses an established system rather than a format only Fumidama can read.
