Supported Markdown
Fumidama can display and edit the following formatting.
| Formatting | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Headings, bold, italic, strikethrough | Organize and emphasize text |
| Bulleted, numbered, and task lists | Organize items and tasks |
| Blockquotes and horizontal rules | Mark quoted text and separate content |
| Links and tables | Show references and related information |
| Inline code and code blocks | Include commands and programs |
| Images | Display images from your work folder |
Math expressions and Mermaid diagrams can also be displayed. Switch to Source to inspect or edit their syntax directly.
HTML tags in Markdown are treated as text rather than rendered as HTML. Images from web URLs or outside the work folder are not displayed in the document. See Images and reference materials below for how to add images.
Bold, italic and strikethrough support punctuation boundaries in Chinese, Japanese and Korean. For example, **文章。**続き displays “文章。” in bold. Other Markdown apps may show the same syntax without formatting. Source highlighting may differ from Live; switching views does not change the document.
Switch between live and source editing
Use Live and Source above the document. Live shows formatted headings and lists while you write; Source lets you edit Markdown syntax directly. Both modes work on the same document.
With focus in the document, use Command + Shift + M on Mac or Ctrl + Shift + M on Windows to switch.
Switching keeps the caret or active end of your selection visible. If it is already visible, the position stays unchanged. Your text, selection and Undo history are preserved.
Structure the content
Use headings, lists, links and tables to make relationships clear. Focus on the purpose of each section and how its information fits together.
Use Source when you need to inspect Markdown syntax. Review the content and its rendered appearance before saving.
Navigate with the outline
Open Tools above a Markdown document and choose Outline to see its current headings. Select a heading to move to that section. Use the arrow beside a heading to collapse or expand its children. The outline works in Live and Source, including unsaved edits, and wraps long headings.
The Outline tab helps you navigate without inserting anything into the document. Use [TOC] in the document when you want a table of contents in the body or exported output.
Work with images and references
Drop a PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP image into the document or use Edit > Insert image. You can also paste an image from the clipboard. Imported images are stored within the workspace in the document’s associated asset area. Moving or deleting those files can break references.
Images, HTML and PDF files in the workspace can be viewed read-only. They are not edited like Markdown documents.
Save your work
Use the document’s Save and record / Save only control, Command + S on Mac, or Ctrl + S on Windows to run the selected save mode. If an external AI tool also edits the file, read the conflict guidance in saving and history.
